Pioneer Shipworks

Laux-1 Foxbat Shuttle

words and artwork by Paul Lippencott

This auxiliary ve has been in production for over fifteen years.

Originally built by the Sudbury Yards, the design was purchased by Pioneer Shipworks when it became apparent that the original auxiliary shuttle design was woefully inadequate. The Foxbat was heavily modified to include a nose-mounted docking collar and a larger cargo bay.

The shuttle is designed to support a range of transport needs. Ten passenger couches fold out of the cargo bay walls, and a collapsible water tank and fuel tank can be set up in the bay within five minutes. There is a dorsal cargo door and a small set of manipulator arms which can be used to retrieve objects in space. The Foxbat is capable of vertical take-off, and can stay afloat in water if the cargo bay is empty.

The ship costs five hundred thousand credits, but Pioneer Shipworks is willing to drop the price by about 80% if the shuttle is purchased with a Linnengart (your local salesman's MSRP and discount may differ from the corporation and Pioneer reminds everyone that they are not liable for the actions and policies of a given individual franchise). Considering the Foxbat's hardiness and high reliability, nobody should consider buying a Linnengart without one.
