MagWeb, the only subscription-based military history Internet location (www.magweb.com) now has 50 magazines with more than 7,500 articles available, including back issues of Napoleon. Sample articles can be viewed at no charge, with full access provided at $5.00 per month. Founded in July, 1996, MagWeb recently conducted a survey of its subscribers and Napoleonics scored at the top of every category, as shown below: (Note: Answers total more than 100% because respondents could name up to three per question.)

    Napoleonic 76.61% (French Revolution, Consulate, Empire to 1815)
    World War II 47.58% (1939- 1945)
    American Civil War 38.71% (1861-1865)

2. Who are the three best commanders in all of military history?

    Napoleon 70.96%
    Alexander the Great 47.58%
    Hannibal 17.74%
    Frederick the Great 16.13%
    Duke of Wellington 11.29%
    George Washington 2.42%
    Marshal Davout 1.61%

    Other Napoleonic era names mentioned that did not receive over 1 %: Archduke Charles, Eugene, Kellerman, Nelson, Ney, and Suvarov.
