Top authorities in Egyptology as well as Napoleonics are scheduled as guides, and special access to restricted areas not usually open to the public are included in the tour. Jerusalem and the World War II battlefield El Alamein will be visited as well. The one day event will include a dealer room with dozens of stands of vendors offering books, militaria, prints, etc. There will also be wargame demonstrations, including "The Last Attack of the Imperial Guard at Waterloo" by Loughton Strike Force, plus re-enactors, but no model or figure competition. Lecture presentations will again be part of the program, including "A Disrespectful Look at Military History" by Colonel John R. Elting (USA - Retired), an "Suvorov in Switzerland, 1799: Russia's Conquering Hero" by Dr. Christopher Duffy. Admission is £ 5 by catalog (available at the door) with a prize drawing. This year's event took place 12- 14 June at historic Ballestone Manor in Baltimore, Maryland where approximately 60 participants gathered in French or Coalition uniforms (see photo on page 50). For more details on joining a unit, or watching as a spectator, see the next item. 14 and 18 June, 2000 The re-enactment of the 200th anniversary of Marengo will take place near the battlefield in Italy, followed closely by the 185th anniversary of Waterloo battle re-enactment in Belgium four days later. In America, you can join the Brigade Napoleon to portray a French soldier, or fight with the British 93rd Brigade. Both organizations are actively recruiting and accept women and family members.
