Throw 1D6.

1 or 2: Goblin scouts report arrival of enemy force and orc general quickly lays an ambush. The goblinoid troops can be placed in ambush positions along track. Throw 1D6. 1 through 4 means the ambush is successfully sprung and the goblinoids get 1 free attack, plus their normal move/attack. 5 or 6 means the ambush was spotted and use normal move/attack dice to see who moves first.

3 or 4: Goblinoid army arrives at point B. Throw 1D6 for commander’s orders. 1 or 2 means deploy the entire force on line, cavalry in the centre, orcs and ogres on the right, and goblins and trolls on the left. General advance. 3 or 4 means to deploy as above, but put cavalry on flanks and try to swing around enemy flanks while advancing centre. 5 or 6 means hold the centre with the orcs and ogres, while harassing the enemy with light missile troops, inflicting as many casualties as possible with minimum loss.

5 or 6: No Effect.
