15mm SAMURAI FIGURES

from TWO DRAGON PRODUCTIONS

by Kenn Hart

ODA NOBUNAGA. Command set of mounted general, very ornate helmet, katana raised in right hand and "Baton" in left. Two foot retainers, one with large banner (Noboroi) and the other with a smaller one. Both the foot samurai have sashimonos, should you wish to put them on, and I always do! The high attention to detail reflects the depth of research that goes into these figures and they come just in time for me to start yet another clan. A welcome addition to this vast range.

SIEGE GUN. Of small calibre this fiendish import by those europeans is definitely Japanese in its style. The barrel, there is no carriage, rests on a "ski ramp" of rice bales. A work of art in itself. There is a large bale behind the gun, to absorb the recoil and a smaller one that hangs over the front of the muzzle in what I can only guess is a rather crude looking means of lessen the said recoil.. Served by two ashigaru, one kneeling with a short rammer in his right hand and the other appears to be using the "Apply match and retire, fast" method of firing the weapon. Used only in siege warfare because you can probably guess that the complete structure did not lend itself to the sort of Horse Artillery movement possibly needed on a fast moving battlefield. Excellent.

MANTLES. One constructed of wood with holes for 4 missilemen to use and the other constructed of rice bales used for men to shelter behind. There are two wheels at the front of the construction and all in all they are very sturdy pieces of siege equipment. Two to a pack and I was so taken with these I immediately bought another pack of each! Could be used for any sort of siege in just about any period.
