Special Mention goes to George Stosic with his Turkish & French in Egypt army who led the competition in every round until the last when he was overtaken by some big wins in the rest of the field. Bad luck George, but well played! Thanks also to the sponsors Crusader Books and Kriegspieler Publications for their generous support. With a field of 14, this was one of the better attended Napoleonic tournaments held in recent times and, but for a few late dropouts, could have easily had 18 competitors. So perhaps this period is finally coming out of the doldrums! The games were evenly matched, and I am happy to say they were fought in a sporting and good-natured manner. Again, problems constantly arose with the myriad of interpretations and understandings of "G rules - due mainly to the way the rules are written. I would urge interested parties to seriously consider either adopting a new set of rules, or to codify and clarify amendments etc, as an " official set:" for competition within the next year. Looking ahead, the first Elan tournament event will be held at Cancon 2001 for both 15mm and 25mm, perhaps with those WRG die-hards included in a sub-comp, to ensure Horse and Musket is well represented and presents a united front much the same way those gaming Ancients do. See you next year! More CanCon 2000 Convention Coverage
