Of the large number of 25mm War of the Roses/Medieval figures now available the recent releases by Front Rank really stand out - if you are thinking of getting into this period these figures are well worth a look. Ray Compton of Essex Miniatures has kindly sent a few figures from the extensive War of the Roses range to review. The size and shape of these figures is like most of the Front Rank range, being slightly larger than true 25mm figures and quite 'chunky' however, given the heavy armour worn in this period they don't appear to be out of proportion. They are also very finely detailed, well caste with minimal flash and are quality figures, although a little expensive at $2.25 each. A bonus is that with over 100 foot and 25 mounted figures in the range including personalities and artillery; with this variety of figures and poses to choose from any army is going to look very handsome on the tabletop.
