"British Forces In North America, 1793-1815," Osprey Men-atArms# 319, by Rene Chartrand, art by Gerry Em bleton.

Well, it is finally here, the British/Canadian book for the War of 1812! While much of the material will not be new, Mr. Chartrand has done a brilliant job tackling this subject. The work contains the standard eight pages of color pictures - all very useful for gamers and painters. The text is information-packed, with lots of detail on the various regular, fencible and militia forces that defended Canada. There is also a chronological table of all the battles of the War of 1812, and which British/Canadian units participated.

A lot of reviewers seem to always state "highly recommended," myself included. I don't think that is strong enough praise for this work. The information contained here is reflective of the care and concern Mr. Chartrand puts in all of his work. I had much of this information already, but it took years of searching to put it together. And I still had some big gaps. To have it all in one book is a great bonus. This book is a must have for all 1812 enthusiasts.
