The Finns received 24 new Ju 88A-4 bombers in two batches on 10 April and 20 April 1943 although one was lost en route. They were assigned to LeLv 44 although late deliveries of the bombsights and the required training on them delayed their first bombing mission until 20 August. When the Soviets attacked only 13 were in service with PLeLv 44. Two were shot down, one each by the Germans and Soviets, and 9 were lost to accidents in less than 700 sorties, including the Lapland War. More WWII Aircraft of the Finnish Air Force
