Plate 4: Method of wearing insignia

  1. This collar patch was first used by officers on the Service Dress tunic (cazadora) model 1928, but was replace in 1933 by the new open necked tunic. With this change the patch style of was as per fig. b.
  2. With this change the patch style of was as per fig. b.
  3. Collar patch for Non-Commisioned officers and other ranks, used with the blouse model 1928. By 1931 and 1932 in official orders, Warrent Ofœicers and later by distinguished N.C.Os. were authorized to use the open necked tunic and thereby the new pattern patch.
  4. 1st Sergeant (also known as "Suboficial" or Warrant Officer), chevrons in gold lace on a backing in the colour of the relevant branch of service.
  5. Sergeant, as above.
  6. Corporal, as above.

Various peaked caps for officers, see plate 3 for details of visor ranking, Generals had piping to the top of the band aswell as to the soft cloth top of their hats, lower ranks had it only to the cloth tops of their hats in their relevant branch service colours.
