Plate 1: Service and Campaign Dress

  1. Batallon "Florida" de Infanteria No.1. Service Dress for Other Ranks and N.C.Os., Model 1928 (with minor adjustments in 1934) in light drab green khaki. Shoulder strap piping, collar and cap patches in green, brown leather leggings and shoes. This uniform was also used as Parade Dress.
  2. Infantry Corporal in Campaign Dress. Shirt and trousers in green khaki, standard Uruguayan infantry equipment, green khaki "aluminio" helmet (French pattern) used from 1940, armed with the 1908 Mauser "Uruguayan model".
  3. Cavalry 1st Lieutenant in Campaign Dress. Colours as for fig.b but with regulation officer's waistbelt and cross straps, binoculars and the 1928 Solingin dagger for officers, brown leather boots.
  4. Battalion of Engineers No.l.; 1st Lieutenant in Service Dress (Uniforme No.5. - raseo y Servicio). This is the officer's basic service dress of the Army with black collar patches and gilt buttons and insignia. Regulation officer's waistbelt with officer's sabre. Brown leather leggings. The service dress cap with branch colour piping.
