Fig.1. Officer of Militia Cavalry, all of these three figures on this plate are from various colour prints held in the Museo Historico National, Rio de Janeiro. Shako black with national cockade and ribbon, shirt white, trousers also white, waistsash is grey-blue with red lines, spurs on brown leather sock, steel spurs and stirrups, shabraque in light brown with a red edge. Cavalryman, no title, shako red with national cockade and ribbon, black visor, shirt red, waist blanket blue - black, under trousers white linen with lace bottoms, blanket over saddle is dark blue, shabraque red. Fig. 3. Militia Cavalryman, shako black, with white feather device and national ribbon, black visor, shirt red, "Chiripa" in alternating red and green stripes on a yellow-green field, waistsash in dark brown, black fur saddle cover over light brown blanket. Note the hanging "Bolas" around his waist. Flag is slightly oblong, almost square, red top, white centre, blue bottom stripes, in centre is a red star surrounded by green branches on a white field, red device above star design is unclear, this central disc is bordered in red.
