Down he comes again in a terrible manner, with what force he could draw together. and surrounds divers colleges. while we were at out devotions in our several chapels, taking away prisoners several doctors of divinity. heads of colleges. viz., Dr. Beale. Master of St. John's College. Dr. Martin, Master of Queen's College. and Dr. Sterne. Master of Jesus College. and these he carries with him to London in triumph they were led captive through Bartholomew Fair and so far as Temple Bar, and back through the City to prison in the Tower. on purpose that they might be houted at or stoned by the rabble rout."
