Goose Green and Darwin
Falklands War

Historical Background

by Frank Chadwick

The following actions is based on the British attack on the Goose Green/ Darwin settlement on May 28th, 1982. It is one of the best examples of modern infantry combat in the last decade. The British have the advantage in troop quality and morale, but the Argentine forces are entrenched, and need only hold their ground. It has been called "New Orleans with Assualt Rifles", as the British have little room to attempt to maneuver in but need to advance. As a convention game, the won/lost rate has been 50-50.
