HMGS has achieved the almost unbelievable. Despite itself, it has not only survived but grown! This is the result of a lot of hard work by some people and the cooperation and support of many more. To continue to grow and achieve the goal of promoting historical miniatures gaming will take more work and your help. When attacking any objective, one has a better chance of succeeding if one has intelligence - information about what is being done and has to be done. You, as part of the network of historical miniatures gamers, can help supply the needed information. HMGS can collect, evaluate, and disseminate the information to those who will be moving toward the objective. Information needed includes: Any articles printed in newspapers and magazines about historical miniatures gaming and related activities. This will help us to prepare press releases and guidelines for improving media relations to put forth our hobby and HMGS in the best possible light. Reports of demonstrations and conventions held by local individuals and groups of historical miniatures gamers. What rules were used? What was the location? What was the audience composed of? How was it received? What could be done to improve the presentation? Copies of lesson plans used in schools utilizing historical miniatures in the educational process. Copies of handouts, flyers, etc. used by individuals and local groups to promote historical miniatures gaming. Information on your local gaming club telling of its activities, the periods it games in, where and when games are held, and the name, address, and telephone number of the person to contact. This information will help us to direct interested people to local clubs. Let's face it... growth of the hobby will really come from the local individuals and organizations providing the day to day, week to week and month to month support to interested people. Conventions are great but once or twice a year will not do too much to help a newcomer to the hobby. Copies of bibliographies on various historical periods and/or activities related to the hobby which might be useful to other people interested in the period or historical miniatures gaming. You can think of your own situation, past and present, and consider what information would have been useful to you as an historical miniatures gamer. Let others benefit from you. Contribute whatever infrmation you have now and whatever you come across in the future to HMGS. Help your hobby help you. Courier Dispatch News of The Hobby
