The foot regiments dressed in red coats with half-lapels, slashed cuffs, turnbacks and waistcoats all in the facing color. The edge of the lapel, cuffs and waistcoat have plain white or yellow lace. The lapel, coat and sleeve buttonholes have square white or yellow lace. Black tricornes were taped white or yellow with black cockade. A pom-pom and side corner hat tufts were worn. Gaiters are given as white. Hanoverians all wore moustaches. Breeches are straw color.

Officers' and sergeants' uniforms were laced either gold or silver. Officers wore yellow sashes over their right shoulder. Officers carried spontoons, sergeants halberds and grenadier officers fusils.

Hanoverian grenadiers wore a red mitre cap similar to the British. The little flap, back turn-up and front were generally in the facing color. Grenadiers also had a waistbelt pouch. Like the British, they wore their pigtail tucked up under the cap.

The belting on both infantry and cavalry was buff. Drummers wore red with shoulder nests. Pouches were black, as were neck stocks.

The Hanoverian foot regiments consisted of 21 single battalion regiments and a two battalion Guard regiment. The battalion was divided into four divisions when formed in line of battle. The battalion was formed in three ranks with the grenadier company on the right.

A regiment of Horse had two squadrons each consisting of three 58-man troops. A dragoon regiment had four squadrons each consisting of two 97-man troops. Each dragoon regiment could also muster a troop of grenadiers. The Guards consisted of a Garde du Corps (Lifeguard) squadron of three troops and a Horse Grenadier squadron of two troops. Troopers formed in three ranks, but the rear rank reinforced the front two during an attack.

The cavalry consisted of two Guard regiments (Lifeguard and Horse Grenadiers), eight of Horse and four of Dragoons.

The Horse and Dragoon regiments wore white coats. Horse had no lapels. Dragoons had lapels in the facing color. Round cuffs and turnbacks on both were the facing color. Black tricornes had yellow or white tape with black cockades. Breeches and waistcoats were straw color. Belts and pouches were buff. Dragoons had troops of horse grenadiers wearing white mitre caps. The front and back turn up was in the facing color. The front flap was red for regiments 5 and 6, blue for 7 and white for 8.

Neck stocks were black except for the 5 and 6 Dragoons and 1B Horse which were red.

Housings and holster caps were the facing color with elaborate embroidery. Housings had rounded corners. Holster caps were pointed.

The artillerymen wore a light grey-blue coat with plain red slashed cuffs, lapels and turnbacks. They wore blue waistcoat and cuff slash. Neck stocks were black. Buttons were brass. Hats were taped yellow with no pom-poms. Breeches were straw, gaiters were white, Belts and pouches were buff. Gun carriages, limbers and ammo wagons were painted red.

Drums in the foot and dragoons were brass with the hoops painted the facing color.
