TSR ANNOUNCES DECISION ON FORMER SPI PUBLICATIONS In a letter to SPI magazine subscribers TSR Hobbies, Inc. have outlined their plans for "Moves", "Strategy & Tactics" and "Ares". Basically "Moves" and "S & T" will be combined and published bimonthly as "S & T". "Ares" will also be published bimonthly. Both magazines will be 64 pages and games will be included in every other issue. Of most interest to subscribers is the unfortunate news that TSR will not pick up the outstanding subscriptions to the SPI magazines. Instead they are offering a two for-one to former subscribers; a one year subscription will cover two years of magazines. The same two-for-one deal will apply to lifetime subscribers to "S & T" with the addition of free back-issues as available from before the start of the lifetime subscription. Discontented subscribers are in the unfortunate position of having to like it or lump it. Details of the failure of SPI are emerging and it seems that TSR secured the assets of the company as the result of a loan default by SPI. Under these circumstances TSR has not assumed any of SPI's debts and liabilities. More News Dispatches
