Armorcast produces mostly fantasy and sci-fi material, but has some new 4” wide stone roads in resin, along with 2 inch high stone walls and gates. Bay Area Yards is adding the CSS Webb, a side-wheeler, to their line of 1/600 resin warships. There are already two dozen ACW ships; ironclads of other navies are also available. Copperfield Miniatures is now producing Ancient Koreans (10 packs), Ancient Thais (seven packs), some new Seven Years War Prussians (eight packs), and 1792 Poles (ten packs) all in 15 mm. Corvus Belli has released some new 15 mm Carthaginian and Numidian elephants. Enduring Valor is a collection of two dozen Johnny Reb 3 scenarios that make up the full battle of Gettysburg, published in two full color booklets. Essex 15mm Western European Dark Ages line has new packs of assorted medium/light cavalry armed with lance & shield, either with helmets or bare headed. Available in the U.S. from Wargames.

Eureka Miniatures has turned out some 15 mm Samurai in earlier period armor. The two dozen figures include foot, cavalry, and command with sword, naginata, or bow. There are also some arquebus figures and some with back-banners to extend into later periods. They have also issued some British Napoleonic infantry wearing Belgic shakos -in 18 mm to be compatible with AB figures. Available in the US from Brigade Games.

Foundry has packs of 28mm Roman Legionaries attacking, advancing, crouching behind their shields, and building fortifications. Front Rank is turning out new 25 mm Napoleonic figures, notably Polish infantry. There are 46 figures in czapka, bearskin, bicorn, and shako. Legions East is a new line of 15 mm WWII figures. Magnificent Little Soldier Company, a new effort from Old Glory Miniatures, has brought out an extensive line of 10 mm figures. Available to date are Napoleonic French, Austrians, Russians, Prussians, Peninsular and Waterloo British, and French Allies, Mexicans for the Texas War of Independence, and Confederates for the ACW. More units in these lines, plus ECW, Marlburians, and Caesar in Gaul are promised. These are priced at $15 for 100 foot or 30 cavalry. Minifigs has provided for WWI in 15 mm with French, Germans, Austro-Hungarians, British, ANZACs, Australians, Indians, Americans, Turks, Bedouins, Tuaregs, Syrians, and some AFV’s. They also have some later 20th Century stuff in 12 mm: a T-54, T-55, M-113A1, IT-67, and a Hind helicopter. Osprey has, of course, published another pile of books. The most recent include Men At Arms: Austro-Hungarian Forces in World War I (2) 1916-1918, The Waffen SS (1) 1 to 5 Divisions; Campaign: Kawanakajima 1553-64; New Vanguard: Greek and Roman Artillery 399 BC–AD 363, German Destroyers 1939–45; Warrior: Comanche 1800–74, Irish Volunteer Soldier 1913–23, Hungarian Hussar 1756–1815, British Infantryman in South Africa 1877–1881, Mongol Warrior 1200-1350; Fortress: Fortresses of the Peninsular War 1808-1814; Elite: The Kaiser’s Warlords German Commanders of World War I, and British Commanders of World War II.

Perry Miniatures, not satisfied with the trend for 25 mm to tower over the old 30’s, has started turning out 40 mm figures for the Peninsular War. Among the first numbers are French Voltigeurs, British Light Infantry, and Spanish Fusiliers. In 28 mm are British in Saratoga-period uniforms for the AWI, with cut down coats and light infantry style caps with horse hair crests. Parkfield Miniatures has a new range of Anthony Wayne’s Legion regulars and riflemen, with command for the Miami campaign in 25 mm, just after the AWI. Quality Castings has a new German Bison SdKfz 118/121 in 15 mm for North Africa. Quick Reaction Force has redesigned their 15 mm Spanish Civil War figures. These include Nationalist infantry, artillery crew, machine guns, and command, Moroccan Foreign Legion with command, and Republican infantry, militia, artillery crew, machine guns, and command. They also have some new WWI and Post War Vehicles and Aircraft, including a British Mk V Male tank, Rolls Royce Armored car, Peerless Armored car, Medium Mk A Whippet, FA-1 Armored car, UNL 35 Armored car, Panzer 1b 20mm, and Polikarpov I-16 “Rata”. Redoubt is starting on a line of 25 mm figures for the early Roman wars in Italy. They are leading off with eight foot and two mounted packs of Samnites, all with random head variants. Etruscans, Romans, and their allies are on the way. Available from the Miniature Service Center.

Scotia has released some microscale late 20th century gear, including a MCV-80 with 81mm mortar, AS 90 SPG, Mamba MkII APC, TFM RG32 Scout APC, TFM 2G-31 APC, F100D Thunderstreak, and a U2. Available in the U.S. from Brookhurst Hobbies.

Skirmish Campaigns has two new books out. One is similar to their previous publications, presenting twelve skirmish scenarios that can be played individually or linked into a campaign, with translators for several popular rulesets. “WWI: Rommel’s Route to Verdun” centers on Erwin Rommel’s Platoon, 7th Company, 124th Infantry Regiment in August and September of 1914.

The second book, “Screaming Eagles at Hamburger Hill” by Mark Fatoso, covers the 101st Airborne’s struggle to capture the strongpoint on Dong Ap Bia from the 29th NVA Regiment in May of 1969. Steve Barber Models has a new Napoleonic Naval landing/boarding party in 28 mm. Led by a Royal Navy Lieutenant, there are a Master’s Mate with 7 barrelled volley gun, and sailors with boarding pike, cutlass, boarding axe, cutlass and dagger, and three more with muskets.
