Presently in production or oplanned for this year are: Alexander The Great with Leonardo DiCaprio (NO- I’m not kidding!); Troy with Brad Pitt as Achilles; Hannibal with Vin Diesel as the general; The Battle of Thermophylae is being investigated by two studios; Russel Crowe will star in Master and Commander based on the novels by Patrick O’Brien; The Alamo will be re-made starring Dennis Quaid as Sam Houston; Robert Duval plays Robert E. Lee in the Gods and Generals Pre-quel to Gettysburg. Hopefully he can reclaim the general from the hash that Martin Sheen made of the great man’s character.
