SAGA SUBSCRIPTION RATE CHANGE Saga, has announced a price change to $35 per year for 6 issues. Saga covers the period from Ancients through the Renaissance, with a focus on the rules published by SAGA T.L. Gore, 890 Janes Rd, Rochester, NY 14612, e-mail:06185@msn.com. MANY HISTORICAL EPICS IN THE WORKS Toby Barrett sent me an article from USA Today that indicates that those of us who enjoy “historical” epic films will have a surfeit of delight in 2003 or 2004. Presently in production or oplanned for this year are: Alexander The Great with Leonardo DiCaprio (NO- I’m not kidding!); Troy with Brad Pitt as Achilles; Hannibal with Vin Diesel as the general; The Battle of Thermophylae is being investigated by two studios; Russel Crowe will star in Master and Commander based on the novels by Patrick O’Brien; The Alamo will be re-made starring Dennis Quaid as Sam Houston; Robert Duval plays Robert E. Lee in the Gods and Generals Pre-quel to Gettysburg. Hopefully he can reclaim the general from the hash that Martin Sheen made of the great man’s character. There are many more than I listed above, but that should keep us going to the movies for quite a while. Courier Dispatch News About the Hobby.
