The Courier at Historicon 2001

By Dick Bryant

The Courier staff with the help of many of you readers kept a full slate of games going in The Paradise Room, arguably the best site in the Host complex for games. We had 45 games, including such popular events as Leo Cronin’s Irish Rebellion; Bill Keyser’s Valmy to Waterloo, Bob Beattie’s many DBA and DBM tournaments; Chris Parker’s Day Of Battle Tournament and what may have been the first ever Cross Fire Tournament. Several were “training Games” where special scenarios were put on that helped people to learn the rule basics of the new rules that are out. Chuck Parrott & Son put on several well attended Cross Fire training games on great terrain, DoB and DBA training games were also there. Many thanks to all who helped out. We gave out over $1000 in prizes from our advertisers: Wargames, Renaissance Ink, Historical Products Co, MagWeb, GHQ, Geo-Hex, Caliver Books, Signifer, Thoroughbred, Musket Miniatures, Tommy Gunner 15s, Castaway Arts, Tactical Conflict Systems, GFI (MiniFigs-USA), and of course, The Courier. A special thanks to our advertisers who were always overly generous in their support of The Courier’s efforts at the HMGS-east conventions.
