Since the 1995 recognition by the HMGS National Board of Directors (NBOD) military and international HMGS members "at large" have been recognized as "GI's," (HMGS members of GAMERS INTERNATIONAL.) Now, over 100 HMGS members across the USA and worldwide constitute HMGS GI. GI is not a separate HMGS Chapter, but a "subgroup" maximizing service-member participation in the chapters nearest where they are stationed. For those not near a chapter, HMGS/Mid-South will provide world-wide access to HMGS and any gaining chapters. All HMGS chapters get a GI update (Veteran Campaigner - VC) for Chapter Newsletter publication. Current GI Director is Pete Panzeri, chosen in 1995 by the HMGS NBOD as GI Liaison Officer (LNO) for HMGS-National. MISSION 1. Keep military/international membership ACTIVE, despite frequent relocation and deployment. 2. Enhance recruitment of military/international into HMGS chapters. 3. Referral Coord. w/HMGS National Directory Officer (NDO). 4. Assist providing HMGS resources to support military PAO events. 5. Assist acquiring Military resources (e.g. game space, research data etc.). 6. Provide GI input forum, through Veteran Campaigner 7. Conduct "GI cadre" projects to promote HMGS goals 1996 CALL FOR "G.I. CADRE" As "G.I." numbers continue to grow it is now important to call for those who will want to be "GI CADRE:" GI members who will take an active contributory role in promoting GI projects world wide. So far about a half dozen HMGS military and international members have agreed to serve as "GI CADRE." Each of the cadre members below is conducting a "GI Project" intended to provide a long-standing contribution to promote and support the National and Local HMGS, Gamers International, and the Hobby over-all (publications, starting new chapters, new conventions, and innovative concepts etc.) GI PROJECTSEach GI member's project proposal (sort of an "HMGS-Eagle-Scout" endeavor) will be fielded by the current Cadre for review, criteria recommendations, sponsorship and assistance.
