This article is my attempt to condense the knowledge of some thirty books into a few pages. My goal is to provide you with enough information on the armies and their fighting style so you, the reader, can begin to wargame the period. One advantage to wargaming the Russo-Japanese War is that there are only two armies. Some might think that wargaming a period with only two armies would lack variety, however these two armies are so very different, yet so balanced on the wargame table, that there are infinite scenario combinations. The organizational data is presented with the object of wargaming at the division/corps level. [1]
