Listed here by groups is the German first wave invasion force. The army unit (total strength in men in parenthesis) which landed in Norway is listed on the far left, followed by the naval forces that escorted/transported the unit.

Narvik: Group 1: 10 Destroyers, 2 Tankers, 3 Freighters.

Trondheim: Group 2: CA Hipper, 4 Destroyers, 2 Tankers, 3 Freighters
Note: BC Gneisenau and BC Scharnhorst escorted Groups 1 and 2.

Bergen & Stavanger: Group 3: CL Koln, CL Konigsberg, 2 Auxiliaries, 1 Tanker, 3 Torpedo Boats, 5 Motor Torpedo Boats.
(Two battalions air transported to Stavanger, the rest arrived by freighter.) 1 Tanker.

Kristiansand: Group 4: CL Karlsruhe, 1 Auxiliary, 3 Torpedo Boats, 7 Motor Torpedo Boats.
Note: There were 10 Freighters dispersed between Groups 3 and 4 to transport troops and supplies.

0slo: Group 5: CA Blucher, B Lutzow, CL Emden, 4 Freightors, 2 Tankers, 3 Torpedo Boats, 8 Minesweepers.
(Two battalions airlanded at Fornebu airfield. The other two battalions were brought in by sea.)

Egersund: Group 6: 4 Minesweepers.
(Part of the 1st Parachute Regiment dropped at Sola and Fornebu airfields.)

Ship abbreviations: BC: Battlecruiser; B: Pocket Battleship; CA: Heavy Cruiser; CL: Light Cruiser.
