A Battalions in Crisis Scenario

Japanese Briefing

Yesterday, troops from the 78th and 79th regiments cut off and surrounded a unit of Americans. However, Japanese troops were too disorganized and exhausted from the fighting to wipe out the Americans. During the night several squad size units were sent to set up blockades and ambushes to prevent American reinforcements from reaching the surrounded unit.

OBJECTIVE:

Your orders are to prevent any enemy troops from reaching the isolated Americans.

Troops:

8th Regiment 20th Division
First Squad: 8 men armed with: 2 SMGs, 1 LMG, and 5 rifles. One rifle has a grenade launcher with 12 rounds.
Second and Third Squads: same as first squad.

MORALE:

Regular 3, Under 1, Veteran 4, Exhausted 1, and Duty Bound 2, for a total of 11.

Set-up:

Anywhere south of Japanese start line. After game starts units may move anywhere on the board. A squad that starts the game dug-in and does not move may have fox holes. Each of the squads must be at least 18 inches from the other two squads.

Artillery Support: None.
