This scenario was originally for JRII, but I have converted it to JRIII. I apologise in advance for any mistakes in the conversion but as most of us are familiar with the JR series, any faults should not prove insurmountable. Per yville was the subject of discussion on the Yahoo group recently and I thought this would therefore be appropriate as an introductory scenario for CHARGE!. It is a large battle, but the strengths can be reduced proportionately if you are stuck for figures. I have fought this scenario several times and always enjoyed a nailbiting finish, so I would urge you to give it a try.

Due to the age of the article, I also do not have a large historical introduction, however the basics are that the Confederates under Bragg intended to capture the Union supply base at Louisville, Kentucky. As Bragg went north the Federals under Buell followed. Both sides blundered into each other just outside Perryville. Bragg was unaware that he faced Buell's whole army and attacked ferociously hoping for a quick victory. He eventually ended up fighting two Union corps while another stood supine to the south. Exhausted after a hard day's fighting against the odds, Bragg eventually realised he was outnumbered and withdrew.
