Book Review

Squadron/Signal also publishes this 8"x11", 104-page (plus covers) paperback. Actually the title is somewhat modest since the book concerns not only aircraft in current use but just about every type that's come out since WWII, from the P-80 to the B-70; is covered in an introductory segment that occupies about a quarter of the book. However the other threefourths is devoted to photos, drawings and statistics-with a little text-on all the Air Force's current fighters, bombers, transports and assorted odds and ends, specifically: the F105, F-106, F-4, F-5, F-111/FB-111, F-15, F-16, A-7D, A-10, B- 52, B-1, SR-71A, U-2, C-130, C135, C-141, C- 5A, YC-14, YC-15, UH-1, CH3/HH-3 and H-53 as well as a few photos of second-line aircraft and trainers. I count fifteen pages, plus the covers, with at least some color photos or art. Logically enough, more space has been given to the more "glamorous" types, like the F-4, F-111, F-15, B- 52 and SR-71A than to the transports, older fighters, etc. This book sells for $7.95.
