Conference on the
French Emigrés in Europe
1789-1814

This will be the first official conference celebrating the bicentennial of the Emigration during the French Revolution. There will be over twenty speakers on the role of Napoleon's enemies - the French émigrés - in London, Prussia, Russia, Portugal and elsewhere; as well as their government, literature and art. The venue will be the Institut Francais, 17 Queensbury Place, London SW7 and will take place on 4-7 July 1997.
