This book is a comprehensive reference work on the English and Welsh Line Infantry Regiments formed as result of the army reorganisation of 1881. It excludes the Guards, Scottish Regiments, Cavalry, Artillery, Engineers and logistic units. The period covered runs from Tangier in 1662 to current day Bosnia.

The book provides a very detailed record of the campaigns, overseas service, battles and engagements of the regiments between these dates. The author has included a historical record of regimental service for each unit, including the years in which the regiment moved to a particular posting.

The text gives details of all campaigns, battles and engagements. It gives regimental titles, designations and nicknames as well as details of uniforms and facing colours, including the dates of any changes. Regimental badges and devices are included, together with their origins. All aspects of the subject are extensively illustrated, often with pictures that have not been published before.

English and Welsh Infantry Regiments: An Illustrated Record of Service 1662-1994 is an up to date account of these units of the British Army. This book is a comprehensive reference work for those with a general interest in the British Army.
