Bill Biles sent me a revised and updated copy of this work, first published in 1987. Bill has done a magnificent job of compiling information from multiple sources such as Pengel & Hurt, Bleckwenn, Mollo, Funcken etc, in a format that is easy to follow. Much of the information is in chart form, augmented by original illustrations of such things as shabraques, sabretaches, regimental flags, mitre cap emblems, etc. The new edition is laser printed for easy reading and includes lots of information that Bill has compiled since the original edition came out in 1987. If you already have a copy, you may want to seriously consider getting your hands on a new copy. Volume I is now available and Bill tells me that he intends to update Volume II (Austria, France, Bavaria, Saxony & Wurttemburg) and Volume III (Russia and the Reichsarmee) sometime during 1996. 7. The Army of Frederick the Great by Christopher Duffy
My conversations with EHQ indicate that the finished manuscript has been sent to the printer and they are hopeful that copies might be available in time for Christmas, but January 1996 looks more realistic. Have patience, the book is almost here. Huzzah!
