SYWA Regional News: Midwest

1. Herb Gundt reports that the arrangements have already been made for the 11th Annual SYWA Convention which will be held in South Bend, Indiana on the weekend of March 18-20, 1994. The venue will be at the Downtown Holiday Inn in South Bend and from what I understand, will be held in a meeting room on the sixth floor. Herb alleges that the view is great and I'm looking forward to a variety of interesting "battles above the clouds." It is never too early to circle your calendar and start thinking about running some games at the convention. To volunteer, or to obtain more information, contact Herb Gundt at 3026 Springbrook Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. Telephone: (219) 299-0352.

2. Tod Kershner and the Miniature Gamers of Michigan (MGM) group will hold their annual Peninsula Campaigns convention on August 21, 1993 at the Westnedge Comers Mall, Riders' Hobby Shop, Kalamazoo, Michigan. Contact Tod at 27679 Featherstone Road, Sturgis, MI 49091 for information. This is one of the best one day wargame conventions in the country. The people are friendly and the quality of the games is always at a high level. Speaking of height, I wonder how tall these miniature gamers are?

3. The 5th Annual Leuthen Day Wargame will be tentatively held on Saturday December 4, 1993 at the Emperor's Headquarters in Chicago, 5744 W. Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL. I say "tentative" because I may move the game back to Saturday November 6, l993 in order to avoid potentially bad weather and the Christmas Season. Look for a final date in MWAN and Historical Gamer Magazine.
