7. Uniforms of the Armies of the Italian States 1740-48 (Piedmont- Sardinia, Genoa, Modena and The Two Sicilies): SYW Association member Steven Manley sent me another volume in his wargainers' guides to the War of the Austrian Succession. These are well-researched uniform guides with information layed out neatly in tabular form for easy understanding. There are also numerous black and white line drawings of the uniforms, grenadier headgear and plenty of text to provide information about troop organization. 'Mere is also a listing of related books, wargame figures and flag sheets. This is really a terrific source for uniform information and almost makes me want to start painting a Piedmontese Army for the WAS. The booklet is 34 pages with card cover and spiral binding. 'Me UK price is f.4.50 [0.82 to SYWA members] plus 50p postage, and can be ordered by writing to Potsdam Flags & Publications, 16 Buckminster Close, Oakwood, Derby DE21 2EA, England. North American members can order publications from Denis Shorthouse at "On Military Matters" 31 Broad Street, Hopewell, NJ 08525 [phone: 609-466-2329 or FAX: 609-466-4174]. Steven also offers an extensive range of 18th Century flags in 6nim, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm and 25mm scales that cover all of the major and minor countries and principalities of the period.
