For this disaster, he incurred the wrath of the Duke of Wellington but whether this was fair remains highly debatable. Trafalgar and the Spanish Navy: The Spanish Experience of Sea Power by John D. Harbron (Hardback, £25.00). This work examines the third largest navy at the start of the Napoleonic Wars, and studies Spanish warship design, the officer-corps, plus the Spanish involvement in the Battle of Trafalgar and its significance to Spain.
