The National Maritime Museum is running a series of stories from characters whose lives are linked with the sea and the seafaring themes of the museum's exhibitions. A team of costumed actor-interpreters presents these stories. The one that may be of interest to readers of this magazine is John Denman: Trafalgar Veteran, the story of a black seaman who served on Nelson's famous ship, the Victory. He was present at the Battle of Trafalgar and other great naval events, and later came to reside in Greenwich Hospital. Dates: October 12, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, and November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
