1st Polonais (2 battalions) (900 men) General Peyri Brigade
9th Chasseurs a Cheval (328 men) 1 x Horse Battery N.B. Numbers have been taken from various accounts and in some cases estimated. The French Swiss Regiment were gathered at Palmi 630 men. The Poles, despite fielding 2 battalions, lost some 200 at the first British encounter on the beach plus a further detachment was left to garrison one of the towns thus depleting their force to about 900 men. Compere's brigade was at least 3,100 men 200/300 men were detached as skirmishers facing the Corsicans therefore his advancing column would be about 2,800 men..
