March sees the publication of The Naval r Chronicle Volume 3: 1804-1806, The Campaign of Trafalgar and its Aftermath. April willsee Volume IV: 1807-1809, The a,r of Attrition, while Volume V: 1810-1815, The Defeat of Napoleon and the American War of 1812 and complete index. Price £ 30 hardback and £ 18 paperback.

Chatham have a series of books known as Sailors Tales, and April sees two new additions to this list. A Sailor of King George: The Journals of Captain Frederick Hoffman 1793-11814, tells the story of a naval officer who served through the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars, from 1793 to 1814. He saw action in the West Indies, in the Channel and off Africa. He fought at Trafalgar aboard HMS Tonnant and was wounded. In 1812 his ship ran aground off Boulogne and he remained a prisoner of the French until the end of the war in 1814. This book is priced at £ 9.95 paperback.

Reminiscences of a Naval Officer by Captain A. Crawford tells the story of Captain Crawford, who served from 1809 to 1815, in the blockading squadron off Boulogne, participating in the attempted attack on the French fleet in port using Fulton's torpedoes, and later with Admiral Duckworth's squadron in the Mediterranean during the war with Turkey. He was also involved in the Navy's support of the - army in the Peninsular War, serving on the east coast of Spain at the siege of Tarragona. Price £ 12.95 paperback.

Constable will publish The Napoleonic Army Handbook: The British Army and her Allies by Richard Partridge and Michael Oliver in June, price £ 35. This month sees the publication of a e classic, The Autobiography of Sir Harry Smith 1787-1819, Edited by G.C.Moore Smith, price £ 16.99. Auqusf will see the publication of The Life of Nelson by Robert Southey, price £ 15.99.
