Napoleon, Nelson, and the New World

On Saturday 2 November 1996 a Study Day will be held at the Royal Canadian Military Institute, Toronto, under the above general heading. Subjects to be discussed will have some relevance to naval topics or directly to Nelson and Napoleon and the influence of their struggle on naval warfare in the New World. Noted scholars from Canadian Universities have already agreed to participate.

At present, six to eight short presentations are planned, about half before lunch on the day, which would end with dinner, following a champagne reception in the Wellington Library of the Military Institute. Printed versions of the presentations may be possible if the papers are submitted on disk in a common format before September. Any interested parties who might wish to attend are welcome. Details of the full programme and costs will be available shortly.

For further information contact: Helen S. Smith, Queen's Park Place, 62 Wellesley Street West, No.1905, Toronto, Ontario M5S 2X3, Canada.
