by George Nafziger.
Published by Emperor's Press.

Not only is this simply the best book on this subject ever to appear in the English language, it is one of the better books on Napoleonic history published in recent years. His work has a comprehensive bibliography, is properly footnoted, has useful, clear maps, a helpful index, thorough orders-of-battle, carefully selected illustrations and a well presented text which covers this aspect of the Campaign of Autumn 1813 blow by blow.

Nafziger's publishers have indeed learned from their previous experiences and have devoted considerably more resources to the layout and presentation of this particular volume.

This work measures favourably against its competition on the book market. It is ideal for the general reader of Napoleonic history, wargamers and military historians. I found this work to be informative, refreshing and most useful. It is a significant contribution to understanding Napoleon's one major victory in the Campaign of Autumn 1813.

Highly recommended.
