Getting ready for late antiquity battles
Here some photos of my collection of 6mm ancients. All these figures were painted by my late friend Francesco. They are very detailed but needed some effort to have them ready again for the table, with new bases and some restoration.
The figures are from Irregular Miniatures and Heroics and Ros. I am not sure which style I like best, each with its own character.
Other photos here: eserciti romans (units for IV-X centuries), gothic, sasanids.

Irregular look terrible before painting but when painted they do have character and some units are very nice indeed. I like Heroics and Ross as the castings are very clean (especially when compared to Irregular) and they give great mass effect especially pike phalanxes. Its a shame Baccus and Rapier are so much larger but I have combined them successfully with the smaller Heroics and Ross in the same army if not in the same unit.
