Ottoman force, circa 1683
This page contains some thoughts fro an initial force late xvii century (or xviii century, using all flintlock muskets?) for our Ottoman project.

An initial idea of a force to paint. In bold what we already have in lead, ready to be painted.
- Generals
- 1 CinC (3 or more figures)
- 2 Commanders (1 or two figures)
- 1 kapikulu unit of traditional high quality sipahis.
- Veteran-Elite squadron of ‘Blade’ Horse, lance, armour @ 4 points 4 (12 figures, 4 bases)
- Timariot sipahis
- 6 Drilled squadrons of ‘Blade’ Horse, lance, each @ 2 points 12 (each 12 figures, 4 bases)
- Janissaries
- 1 Drilled-Elite ‘All musket’ orta with flintlock muskets @ 2 points 2 (24 figures, flags at the center of two bases)
- 2 Drilled ‘All musket’ ortas with matchlock muskets, each @ 1 point 2 (24 figures, flags at the center of two bases)
- tüfekçi, sekban and Bosniak irregulars
- 2 Raw ‘All musket’ ortas with matchlock muskets, each @ 0.5 points 1 (16 figures on 4 bases, may need to buy officers)
- also some tüfekçi on skirmish bases (8 round bases with 2 figures each?)
- tribal irregulars
- 6 Raw squadrons of Tribal Cavalry, bow, each @ 0.5 points 3 (6 figures each, on individual pill bases 25mmx50mm)
- 1 field gun @ 1 point (actually 3 bases 50mmx100mm with four gunners each)
Going back and forth in time, may add
- Azab arquebusiers or bowmen (16 figures on 4 bases)
- crossbowmen
- handgunners
- Tufekcis skirmishers (musketeer skirmishers, two figures on 40mm round base)
