Early Renaissance vintage armies

I have just recovered a bunch of old Early Renaissance Minifigs figures that need an important restoration. I have identified:

• about 80 swiss pikemen
• about 40 lansquenets pikemen
• probably 15 lansquenets halberdier
• a number of lansquenet musketeers
• some german crossbows
• some french crossbows
• some artillerymen
• few officers, swiss and lansquenets
• few english figures

I plan to base them using the by now standard 50mmx50mm bases:

• 6 pikemen
• 4 shooters
• 2 cavalrymen

Halberdiers and Officers, drummer and standard bearers shall be mounted on 50mmx25mm bases, while skirmishers will be mounted in twos, on 40mm round bases.

To be more specific, using the Warfare in the Age of Discovery army descriptions:

• German and swiss crossbows, skirmishers
• italian/french/swiss unarmored arquebusiers, skirmishers
• stradiots and other light cavalry, single pill bases 25mmx50mm
• all artillery 50mmx100mm bases, four artillerymen
• french crossbowmen and arquebusiers, 50mmx50mm, four figures
• sword and buckler and all halberdiers, two figures on 50mmx25mm
• lansquenet and spanish arquebusiers and musketeers, two (three?) figures on 25mmx50mm
• German hand gunners, two (three?) figures on 50×25
• italian arquebusiers, two (three?) figures on 50×25

Lansquenet and other pike units

I will build a lansquenet unit as follows:

• first rank: two bases of arquebusiers or musketeers, two (three?) figures each on 50×25.
• other ranks: four bases of pikemen, six-figure on 50×50
  • first rank of two bases should contain, officer, flag, drummer or halberdier, flag, fifer.
    • there might be an option to separate command bases into first and second rank, to have more commands with flags from different armies.
• last ranks: two bases of halberdiers, two figures on 50×25

Spanish units would replace the halberdiers with sword and bucklers

Swiss unit would not contain the first rank of arquebusiers but would have two skirmishers bases to be placed in front of the unit.
