First Encounter, Lake Geneva Naval Base
Small ditty, penned about the L’Orient at the Nile:

Game played using Rod Langton Fast napoleonic Naval Rules, Signal Close Action fast play.

The British had three ships, names, Temeraire, Orion and Agamennon, small respect to the enemy, crack crew, smart commander (player).
The Spanish had three big heavily armed ships, Santissima Trinidad, Monarca and Santa Anna, average crew, dummy commander (player).

Battle Report
Initial positions: British upwind, ships of the line abreast, fourth rate alone on a side. Spanish in line of battle, but dangerously close to each other.

The British fight back, precise shots falling on the enemy hulls.
The Monarca approaches the first british ship, and manoeuvres to try to cut the enemy battle line. It suffers heavy damage from enemy fire.
A very very lucky shot from the spanish manage to hit the Santa Barbara of Orion. Two 3D6 rolls, 18 and 17 respectively. The ship explodes.
