Remote VLB GUI
Dear playtesters, let us try to run the program without a local install. Windows will have to fly across the ocean, they will be slow, but it is a lot easier for me to modify the code, and you don’t need to install any package!
Mac Users
These are instructions to run vlbgui from a remote mac. You only need to have X11 installed, a free package distributed by Apple.
To be sure that X11 is installed, go to the Utilities folder in the Applications folder, and look for an icon with a big X. If it is present you are ready to launch the battle program.

Assuming that I sent you an email with:
- a username: yourUsername
- a password: yourPassword
Open a Terminal window (in the Applications/Utilities folder), type into the terminal the following sentences which I put in red letters, please type in spaces between red text as shown.
mm:~ admin$ ssh -Y yourUsername@stefanov.no-ip.org (and press the return key)
The authenticity of host ‘stefanov.no-ip.org (..)’ can’t be established.
RSA key fingerprint is …
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes (and press the return key)
Warning: Permanently added ‘stefanov.no-ip.org’ (RSA) to the list of known hosts.
Password: yourPassword (it will not appear on screen)(and press the return key)

stefanov:~ $ vlbgui (and press the return key)
A white icon with X should appear in the Dock, then after a while, two windows appear. You need to choose the battle file called Castiglione.xml, which is in your home directory.
You are ready to go now! remember to Save from time to time, since the program has bugs and will crash.
Windows users
If you want to connect from a windows machine you can use this free product. It should work but I have not tested yet.
You can startup the X server and connect using Putty.
You type:
> ssh -Y yourUsername@stefanov.no-ip.org (yourUsername I will send you, just ask)
Password: yourPassword
