One of the problems with many miniatures systems is that the players can count figures and casualties and know which units to shoot at, which units are good or poor quality, etc.. Included with this scenario is the order of battle for both the Confederate and Union forces. Under each unit is a group of squares separated by a slash. Each group of squares represents the figures on a stand. With these sheets, casualties can be kept track of off-table, so that the opponent cannot tell just by the number of regiments in a unit what its manpower is (this will usually come as a shock to the Union player when he realizes how big some of the Confederate brigades are). Mark the casualties from left to right and if you reach a slash, a stand must be removed from the table.
Confederate forces which begin the game on the map must begin the game in Line formation, deployed facing Bull Run.
Union forces are designated by the numbers to make bookkeeping easier.
