Summary:The game as played required 20+ players. A conclusion was reached at the end of the day and this is attributable to the playability and flexibility of the Spearhead rules. Players who had not had an opportunity to participate in a prior Spearhead game quickly were able to manage the game system. The players were able to maintain a reasonable pace to the game since little time was lost to unprofitable rules discussions. The few situations which required a judge to arbitrate were decided immediately. The ebb and flow of the battle was impressive as units advanced or fell back, reserves committed or shifted, and threats countered. All who played were able to say for the want of a die roll here or a die roll there, the outcome could have been different. More Kursk 1943
