Five Mile Loop

We decided to take the five mile drive arond the rest of the island. Pull-offs with placards note interesting factoids about the environment and colonial life. There's a short trail of a couple hundred yards out to Black Point. Most of the terrain is marshland, but it was a nice short drive, and with that, we exited the park. However, just before exiting, we turned off to look at the glassblowing house. Sure enough, artisans were shaping glass a plenty. It's interesting to watch, hot as can be, and includes a glass selling shop.

Black Point.

Our next objective was a cross-stitch shop in the eastern part of modern Williamsburg. Although I certainly could have missed it, MagWeb.com VP Susan Lockwood had other ideas. I will say that after being in many such shops across the world over the years, this is one of the larger, better stocked shops I've seen. It also has chairs for us guys to sit on. It's been there for 23 years and its run by a lady originally from Austria.
