The Chronology covers Europe from 1600 until 1650. Its focus is on wars and
battles. Many of the treaties proved to be only truces which lasted for only
a limited amount of time before hostilities resumed. Even during times of
peace, conflicts, raids, revolts and riots often occurred. The term Austria
refers to all of the Imperial land of the Holy Roman Empire controlled by
The Hapsburgs. Hapsburg Spain is referred to as Spain. With the Dawning of
the 1600s, war existed between several countries including Austria vs
Ottoman Turkey and Austria vs Hungarian rebels; Spain vs Holland/Netherlands.
1606 Austria concludes the Zsitva Peace with Ottoman Turkey
1606 Austria suppresses Hungarian Revolt
1607 Spain and Netherlands sign a ceasefire which lasts until 1621
1609-18 Poland invades Russia/Muscovy. Pretender's War.
1609-11 Poles capture Smolensk after a long siege
1610 Poles defeat Muscovy at Kluszyn (Klushino)
1611 Passau troops attack Prague
1611-13 Dane-Swede War. Initiated by a Danish invasion.
1612-17 Polish nobles (Potocki) aid rebels in Moldavia (Ottoman)
1613-1615 First War of Mantuan Succession (Italy). Savoy vs Spain & Austria vs Venice.
1614 First of a series of Civil wars in France between political & religious factions They often last only a few months before a truce is signed. (Jan-May)

1614-21 Polish-Ottoman War
1615 Polish invasion of Ottoman controlled Moldavia
1615-16 French Civil War: Aug-May '16
1615-18 Uzkok War. Venice + Dutch + England vs Austria
1616-17 Second Mantuan Sucession War. (Italy) Savoy w/ German Protestant and French volunteers vs Spain. Also Austrian vs Venice
1617 French Civil War : Feb-Apr
1617- 26 Swedish-Polish War. Sweden invades Livonia. Sweden and Poland Truce in 1618
1618 Mansfeld captures Pilsen with a Protestant Coalition army.
1619 France Civil War: Feb-Apr
1619 Two failed sieges of Vienna(May) First Siege Protestants. Second Siege (Nov) Protestants + Transylvanians
1619 Transylvania under Bethlen conquers Hungary (Aug-Oct campaign)
1619 Poles invade Transylvania
1620 Bavaria occupies Upper Austria until 1628
1620 After a 8-9 month truce Transylvania re-invades Hungary in Aug
1620 Sept 20. Major Battle of Cecora. Poles vs Turks. Turks Won.
1620 Spainish troops in Netherlands under Spinola invade Palatinate
1620 Nov 3. Battle of White Mountain. Austrians defeat Bohemians
1620 Final French Civil War ends in Aug.

1651 Battle of Belesteczko. Major Polish victory over the Cossacks
1652 Battle of Batoh. Cossacks defeat a large Polish army.
