We will begin with Austrian Army of 1812 mainly because my files are up to date on this force.

ARMY CORPS

Advanced Guard Division / Line Division / Line Division

ADVANCED GUARD DIVISION

    2 Light Brigades each with 1 light Cavalry Regiment and 2 to 5 light Infantry Battalions with a Cavalry Battery

LINE DIVISION

    2 or 3 brigades of 2 Line Regiments each with a Field Battery.

RESERVE DIVISION

    Generally the Grenadier Battalions with Field Artillery

ARTILLERY

    Cavalry Batteries - 8 guns with pounders
    Field Batteries - 8 guns with 12 pounders and 7 inch howitzers sometimes formed into Corps and Army Artillery Reserve.

JAGER BATTALION 6 companies w/o grenadiers - 145 men per company
GRENADIER BATTALIONS Usually 4 or 6 companies (1 from each line battalion) 145 men each. Grenadier Battalions were usually combined into a Reserve Corps.
LINE OR FUSILIER BATTALIONS 2 to 3 made a Line Regiment / 6 companies w/o grenadiers / each of 218 men / sometimes the 3rd Battalion was Landwehr.
LANDWEHR BATTALIONS 6 companies of 218 men, or 4 line companies and 2 Schutzen companies.

The Battalion consisted of 3 division, each of 2 companies. In column the companies in 3 ranks were placed one behind the other, the color party was placed on the left of the 3rd company and the musicians were placed between the 3rd and 4th companies.

CAVALRY

    Regiment equaled 8 squadrons and generally 6 squadrons in combat. Squadron - 125 to 200 men / operated in divisions of 2 squadrons each

Horse Furniture As Hussars Sash around waist Grey overalls usually worn by all ranks. Officers sometimes white breeches & knee boots.
