Welcome

by K. Patrick Reagan

Welcome to our world of in-depth historical treatments for our hobby, our passion, namely historical miniature gaming and painting. We hope you enjoy the following articles and scenarios. They represent the work of some very impressive people and the quality and detail of their research is outstanding. This is what we want to present to you, our readers, on an on-going basis. Our thought is that by adding more of the fine scholarship of history to our hobby we can do nothing but improve the genre.

We welcome your inquiries about topics you'd like to see presented, your letters containing your thoughts and reactions to this magazine. If you want to know more about the source materials, write to us and we will gladly let you know the names of the publications and how you can get your hands on a copy. If we have the space, we would like to print some of your comments, along with the Editors' and/or writers' responses. History can be a dry and dusty topic. That is not the way we feel about history. Indeed, by looking at the discussions and arguments on the web, we would be inclined to use adjectives like 'lively' and 'heated.' That is why we used the word 'passion' earlier, because for those of us that feel lead is more than what goes into a mechanical pencil, passion aptly describes how we feel about figures, battles, rules and all the rest of the neat stuff that goes along with our hobby.

You may ask whether or not we support, or intend to support, any one particular game system or miniature manufacturer. The answer is no. There are many excellent products available today. We want to add 'spice' if you will to the hobby in general, so you can take your favorite rules and figures and get increased enjoyment from the hobby.

So enjoy the magazine. We have in putting it together.
