one 22" x 34" black and white map, covering the area from Kharkov in the north, Taganrog in the east, Perekop in the south to Kiev/Odessa in the west;

one 87page 8 1/2" x 11" brown and white rules booklet;

one 11" x 17" black and white play accessory sheet;

199 die cut 1/2" counters.

The inside of the play accessory sheet contains nine charts and tables and the outside forms the cover, the artwork of which is reproduced at the start of this article on the previous page.

Counter Manifest

Although material which came with Tatchanka indicates that there are 199 counters, the copy of the game I had an opportunity to inspect came with 201 counters, as follows:

    89 Reds (black on red)
    14 Makhnovists (red on black)
    32 Ukrainian Nationalists (black on white)
    51 Whites (blue on white)
    6 French (black on light blue)
    5 Greek (black on very light blue)
    4 blanks (red)

The above table provides as complete a counter manifest for Tatchanka as is possible to develop. The rulebook states that there are 199 machine cut counters in the game, but the counter manifest in the rulebook lists only 185 counters and does not include blanks or Political Power markers. 201 counters came with the game.
