Governments Never Lie

Don Angel Alcazar de Velasco,
Martin Bormann, and 1945

by Harry Cooper

After receiving KTB #116, one of our long-time and supportive Members wrote that he could not believe the claim by DON ANGEL ALCAZAR de VELASCO (158-+-1985), that he spoke with Martin Bormann a year after the end of the war. After all, Bormann died in Berlin in May of 1945. The German government proved that for certain, and governments never lie - do they?

Hitler & his close associates were proclaimed by the victorious Allies as international gangsters. How could any government admit that one (or more) of these men escaped to live out his life in relative safety in anonymity in another country? So we know for certain that Martin Bormann died in Berlin in May of 1945 - the Bonn government said so, and governments never lie.

I remember as a young man, watching the weekly TV show 60 MINUTES. In a segment hosted by MIKE WALLACE (165-1986) entitled ‘THE BORMANN BROTHERS’, they traced the movements of both Martin Bormann and his brother Alfried Bormann, through various South American countries. They showed the actual houses in which they lived - but how could they talk of Martin Bormann living in South America? The government said he died in Berlin in May of 1945, and governments never lie.

According to an article in NOTICIAS, the daily newspaper in the city of Asuncion, Paraguay in early 1993, Martin Bormann died of stomach cancer in the little town of Hohenau, a small town which was colonized by Germans after the war some 200 miles south of Asuncion. This article came from a 1961 report that was found in 1993 in the files of the secret police of the former President of Paraguay, Alfredo Strössner.

The German (Bonn) Government states absolutely that Martin Bormann died in Berlin in May of 1945; the files of the Paraguay government state that Bormann died in 1959 in that country. As we know, governments never lie - but I am very confused. Well, at least I am sure that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone when he assassinated President John F. Kennedy - the government said so.

I am not defending nor condemning the writing of DON ANGEL; but I am telling you that if you already formed an opinion, you are due for one hell of a surprise as this story unfolds. Keep an open mind, and do not believe for a moment that governments never lie.
